Trans Reality

2017 | performer

If a ray of light falls on a prism, it divides into its components. Each color reveals its unique character, created in interaction with the geometric shape. Light is the active element, the prism the passive player.

Trans-reality draws a parallel to the idea of a conscious identity, the idea of an ego. An individual is basically a whole, but when it encounters something as complex as a consciousness, it necessarily consists of a system of networked properties that make up this ego. The performance explores this concept in practice. A prism is linked to four qualities of the ego: movement, sound, language, and eyesight. These create a closed cycle.

The element of movement is represented by a dancer wearing VR glasses. His task is to interpret the drawings of an artist. The graphic artist uses the narrator's words for his presentation. The story, in turn, is based on the sounds of the musician setting the dancer's movements to music. A feedback loop unfolds in which the output of the individual performer becomes the input of another.
